Privacy & how it works

ClimateQuest on the web is built the same way as our iOS apps: private by design.

Everything stays on this device

Your progress — best scores and XP — is stored only in this browser (on-device storage). It is never sent anywhere. Clear your browser data and it's gone; nobody else can see it.

No accounts, no ads, no tracking

There is no sign-up and no login. There are no ads and no in-app purchases. There are no third-party trackers embedded in the app.

How it works

In the Earth-System Lab, slide the CO₂ level and watch a real (simplified) climate model respond — the same greenhouse-gas math scientists use, scaled so you can feel how the pieces connect. Predict how much Earth will warm before the model reveals it, read real climate datasets, and compare emissions paths. In the Feedback-Loop Builder, meet the four loops that drive Earth's climate and learn which ones amplify a change and which push back. Or run a Concepts kit: a short round of questions. A hint appears only after a first try, so you think it through first — and mistakes are treated as part of learning.

Hope-forward, not doom

Climate can feel heavy. ClimateQuest is built to leave you understanding the system and what helps — clean energy, forests, smart choices — not frightened. It sticks to the science and shows the levers people can actually pull. Climate policy is presented evenly, as trade-offs to reason about, never as one side's opinion.

Built for ages 9–14

The 400 Concepts questions come straight from the ClimateQuest iOS app and are aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards for climate and Earth systems (grades 4–8). Everything works with the sound off and can be played entirely by keyboard. Meet the cast and read their stories at the cast page.
