How it works

FossilForge turns paleontology into things you do — dig, rebuild, and reason — not just facts to memorize.

• Dig Lab — take a real fossil from a famous site through the four steps of paleontology: excavate it from the rock, clean off the last bits, rebuild the skeleton head-to-tail, then identify what you found from its features.
• Deep Time — order the eras of Earth’s history, then learn the Law of Superposition, cross-cutting, and index fossils so you can read the age of rock straight from its layers.
• Cladogram Lab — build the tree of life by grouping animals by the new features they share, seeing how fish became land animals and dinosaurs became birds.
• Concept kits — 16 short question rounds, from “what is a fossil?” up through evolution, extinction, and advanced synthesis.
