About HarmonyForge Play
What you can do
- Pattern Grid Studio — arrange colors and shapes on a grid where the pattern is the music. Row is pitch (top is high), and left to right is time. Press play and a marker sweeps the columns so you can watch your pattern turn into a melody. Pick a calm room — Ocean, Forest, or Cosmic — and save patterns (with how they feel) to this device.
- Chord & Interval Lab — build intervals and triads on a silent piano. Stack a root, third and fifth to make a major or minor chord, or find the note a Perfect 5th above another. You’ll see which intervals settle and which want to move — the same idea the characters Land and Pull stand for. A hint appears after a first try.
- 16 concept kits — quick question rounds on rhythm, melody, notation, instruments, harmony, history, world music, and more, at your own pace.
It works with the sound off
Sound is a bonus, not a requirement. In the grid, the moving playhead and the shapes show you the music; in the lab, note names and the shape of a chord tell you everything you need. So you can learn on a muted device, or if you’re deaf or hard of hearing. Turn the sound on any time you like — it’s off until you do.
Meet the characters
Triad stacks three notes into a chord, Lean slides smoothly between them, Pull is the tension that wants to resolve, Land is the calm arrival, and Shift is the move to a new key. Read their stories →
