About SoundSphere Play
How it works
SoundSphere turns hearing into something you do — build, notice, and reason — not just facts to memorise.
- Soundscape Studio — read a sound's low/mid/high frequency fingerprint and pick the one that masks a distraction (the real trick behind white noise), match soundscape recipes to goals, and name sound properties like pitch, loudness, and timbre.
- Regulation Zones — the Zones of Regulation: notice how your body and feelings are running (blue, green, yellow, or red), choose a tool that helps, and match a soundscape that supports each zone. There are no bad zones.
- Concept kits — 16 short question rounds across sound science, soundscape design, acoustics, bioacoustics, digital audio, music technology, and sensory self-regulation and self-advocacy.
You never need audio
Every station is fully solvable with your eyes alone — the science is shown in the on-screen bars, colours, and words. If you'd like to also hear a sound, an optional “Preview” button plays a short tone made right in your browser. Nothing is required, and nothing downloads.
Our privacy promise
SoundSphere Play is free, works offline, and collects nothing. No accounts, no ads, no tracking, and no data ever leaves your device — your level and streak are saved only in this browser. Anything you notice about your feelings stays private to you.
Meet the cast
A team of characters — with Hush as your guide — brings sound to life, each one standing for a piece of how sound works and how it makes us feel. Find their illustrated stories on the cast page.
Mistakes are part of it
You never lose anything for a wrong answer. A wrong guess just explains what you were looking at and points you toward the right idea next time — that's how learning works.
